adinkra, energy,

Energy flows as the spirit within us. Some things increase our energy and some things decrease our energy.

Nu BodyMind is...

a study, an approach to healing that is rooted in ancient African philosophy. "Nu" as an infinite primordial substance of which people are manifested, the "Body" as the physical form, and the "Mind" as the spirit of interconnected thought, processing, and command.

Simply, Nu BodyMind is a metaphysical approach to understanding our body. As we explore the embodiment of our thoughts, memories and feelings, we reveal the connections and begin to notice the physical impact the mind has. On this journey we learn that the body has a mind of its own; storing its own memories and influencing our thoughts and emotions.

Some things just have to be experienced

Somatic Therapy

The body communicates with subtle taps and gentle nudges before it grips, jabs, or gives out. What it means to be disconnected from our bodies is when we can't feel what's going on until it's desperate for attention.

Sometimes the light taps, the gentle nudges don't go unnoticed but we choose to ignore them because they usually go away. Or do they? Do we teach ourselves to simply ignore the nudges, mask them perhaps with pain killers? Stay busy so we are numb to them?

How long has it been? Do you still do that? Can you feel yourself? If you can, what else is there hidden beneath the sensations?
